Do you believe in inducing labor for women who are more than a week overdue, or is it your belief that we let nature take it's course?

I was overdue with my first child by 13 days and encouraged by the doctor to induce because they were afraid he would be to big for me to deliver. He ended up only being a 7lb baby, maybe we could have waited?
