We all know the basic things we need when bringing baby home, but what are some of the things that you don't "need" but really "NEED".
I will start! I don't think I could have lived without a swing and the vibrating bouncy seat for my last child. He had colic and those 2 things were lifesavers for hubby and I. We would walk, bounce, swing, vibrate, repeat...LOL for hours. So what are your "MUST HAVE" items? |

I'm not a mom yet, either, but my mom swore by the baby swing she got us.
My step-mom said she couldn't have done without having a bed for her in the nursery. She or my dad slept on it while my step sisters were young so the other one could get a full night's sleep. |

This will be our first baby too so I'm not an experienced mom, but one thing we are making sure to have (my step-mother already picked this up for us to give us at the shower!) is a nap nanny (go to Nap Nanny ® | The Infant Recliner Designed to Increase Infant Comfort). It isn't essential, but everywhere I've looked it has received beyond fantastic reviews. It's an infant recliner/chair that can be used through toddler age and the way the chair positions the baby, it helps with colic, fussiness, and longer sleeping time. It travels easy and they can sleep in it right in bed between you and daddy if you want.

I have to have the gowns, both for my son and my daughter. They are great when diapers have to be changed in the middle of the night. There are no snaps to deal with and they are easy to sleep in. I also love the sleep sacks, like a blanket that fits over their clothing like overalls. They are a safety must. I also love the body carriers. They are nice for shopping or walking, anytime when you need your hands free for other things.
