Default I need to do some serious work!

My DH and I built our house a little over a year ago. We are living in it, but it is far from finished. Now that I am pregnant, we have so much work to do! We have an open loft with no railing. There is about 20 feet of floor that just opens to downstairs! To make matters worse, if someone were to fall over the edge, they would land on the wood stove! We need a fence around the stove and a railing on the loft. Our stairs are really ricketty because we didn't have the lumber we needed to build proper stairs but we hated using a ladder, so we need to build new stairs, too. And that's just the beginning! Only six months to go...

I live in Alaska. Where in New Zealand are you? I spent about a month traveling on the South Island and a week on the North Island a few years back.

We didn't make it up to Auckland. We basically took the ferry to the North Island, drove to a cave and went caving, camped for a couple nights and just looked at the scenery. I think the cave was called Waitomo Caves. (I am terrible with names of places...I have pictures, though!!)

We really enjoyed the south island. We flew into Christchurch and toured around the island. I really enjoyed swimming with dolphins in Kaikoura. I also had a great time on the coast on the NorthWestern side of the island. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of a single town we were in there. A map would help...Oh well.
