Seems like a lonely forum. I decided to start a thread for others pregnant with twins. If anyone out there would like a friend through their pregnancy, I am here. ( I know it will get busy after that...)
I am a mother of triplet girls 18 months old and a 17 year old daughter. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant via IVF/PGD with twin boys. Take care and good luck, feel free to reply to the thread, or private message me. God Bless! |

Hi Doc,
I have not had the boys yet, my doctor has scheduled me for 37 weeks, which is Dec 31st. I am hoping and praying to keep my sanity so there should be no post-puerperal depression. I have a prescription to take zoloft, but my positive attitude has kept me upbeat, happy and not needing any meds. Well, I have about 6 weeks left and my house will be filled with babies! Thanks for checking in!

I do actually have a question. Never experienced this with my single or triplets. I have days where there is one or two constant contractions. I mean its not like a 5 minute thing that ends and comes one after the other. It will be one contraction for an hour. My stomach is rock hard. I am hydrated, fed, laying on my left side relaxing, and there i get this weird contraction.
Oh one more question, charlie horses in my feet and calves. They wake me up in the middle of the night. Misery. Its hard to tell me to take it easy too, with two yr old triplets. LOL. PS The boys look super cute on the ultrasound, well what do you expect me to say? I have wanted them forever. And about the PPD, I had it so bad with my girls I did not know who I was. I never wanted to leave the house, I was not bathing, and my personal hygeine was suffering in more ways than one. I was seeing things (spirits) and hearing things, when I finally told someone about it, I was making threats against my triplets. That will not happen again. I wont let it get that far. My husband also now knows what to look for. So, no I talk about prayer, preparation, etc, its not cause I am better than the PPD its cause I have been there and wont go there again.

Let me start with the contractions problem. If the contractions do not increase in intensity, irregular, stops with change in position, then it is most probably Braxton-Hicks contractions. These are normal uterine contractions.
The leg cramps is normal due to pressure of the pregnant enlarged uterus on the nearby veins. This will lead to poor venous drainage. You may also have a lower limb oedema which is due to the same reason. The solution for it is to massage your leg muscles regularly and when sitting put your legs in a position so that your legs are higher than the level of your body. Wish you a happy pregnancy
